Welcome to the Wild Moon Journal

I’ve always been drawn to things that feel like they belong in a story.

A couple walking through the trees in the evening light. A dress moving in the wind. An old house at the end of a dirt road. A florist growing flowers in a tiny studio. The kind of places, and people that make you feel like you’ve wandered into a scene from a film or the pages of a romance novel.

That feeling is a big part of why I photograph the way I do.

But I’ve also realised that the photographs are only part of the story.

There are people behind them. Places that inspire them. Small businesses, artists and creatives who make beautiful things. And all the little details that can turn an ordinary afternoon into something that feels a bit more magical.

That’s what I want the Wild Moon Journal to be.

A place that feels a little more like a favourite magazine than a photography blog.

I want to share the people I meet, the places I discover and the creatives I’m drawn to. I want to sit down with local photographers and small business owners and hear their stories. I want to explore the things that can become part of a photoshoot, the dresses, flowers, locations, hair and makeup, handmade pieces and all the little details in between.

And, of course, I’ll be sharing plenty of photographs too.

Some will be from my own sessions. Some might be from photographers whose work I love. Some will be little stories about a place or person that made me stop and think, I want to photograph this.

I want this to become a little community of people who love beautiful things, good stories and photographs that make you want to step inside the frame.
